Harmonious Vibrations All Around Us

When I walk in the woods of the state park near my home or take a stroll down to the seaside, I somehow become more connected to my own body’s natural rhythms. My tension lessons, my body relaxes, and my mind clears.

Is this a psychological adjustment to walking away from my desk, or is it something more than that? Am I simply de-stressing or am I aligning myself to the rhythms of the natural world?

Vibrations are very subtle, but they are everywhere and all around us, connecting us to nature and our spiritual self. From the soft lapping of waves to the buzzing of bees to the rumbling of a thunderstorm, vibrational patterns keep us in tune with our world.

When we tune into these calming frequencies, we begin to intuitively sense the universe and feel more harmonious with the cosmic vibration connecting us all at the core.

Science behind the energy

All matter, whether gas, liquid, or air, is vibrating constantly because atoms are in endless motion and vibrating at different rates or frequencies. If we know that these are the building blocks of our reality, we can begin to understand how everything is interconnected.

One such concept is the golden ratio, also known as φ (phi) (1.6180339887), a mathematical proportion in both nature and music that creates a sense of beauty and harmony. If energies align with these universal frequencies, we can reach a sense of harmony or resonance.

Vibrations and synchronicity

From a gentle wind swaying the trees to the synchronized movement of a flock of birds, vibrations create these mesmerizing dances. When a living thing shares a similar frequency with another, they can actually amplify each other’s vibrations.

Schools of fish can swim in an underwater ballet, and swarms of crickets can chirp in harmonious chorus by vibrating on the same level. This synchronization is critical in the harmony of entire ecosystems here on planet earth.

All the people, animals, plants, and matter around us are constantly vibrating. We’re all inside a large web, with everything in a constant state of motion, giving us the opportunity to harmonize with nature.

Harmonious sound waves

Sound waves are a type of vibration. Most living creatures create sound to communicate with one another – people talking, bees buzzing, birds singing, and dolphins squeaking.

In music, when notes are played together, the sounds waves can either cause harmony or dissonance. Harmony is reached when a combination of chords is pleasing, whereas dissonance happens when the combination is harsh.

Resonance and natural flow

We’ve all felt or understood what it means to have something resonate with us. But what does this metaphor actually mean? Scientifically speaking, it means that an object aligns with, or goes with the flow, of its natural state.

When an object is vibrating at its natural frequency without undo force working against it, it is resonant. An example is pushing a child on a swing at its natural point of least resistance. If you push at the very top of the arc, you’re pushing at its resonance frequency, getting the most out of the swing.

In other words, you’re working with its natural flow.

Golden ratio in nature

To create a pleasing sound, the frequency of ratio between musical notes is 3:2 or the perfect fifth — very close to the golden ratio of pi. When we listen to pleasing music, music that evokes an emotional response, we’re experiencing the resonance of the golden ratio.

In nature, patterns of phi show up in the spiral of seashells, petals on a flower, the human body, and trees. When we look deep into the interconnectedness of all things, we can begin to align ourselves with the universal vibrational energy and rhythm of nature.

This is the concept of sacred geometry, or the sacred blueprint of the universe, an interconnected web of patterns in nature, music, and universal realms.

Rhythm of the universe

Even our thoughts and emotions can create vibrations, and when we are aligned with universal vibrations, we can achieve a greater sense of well-being. Attuning ourselves to the vibrations of the natural world around us will deepen our connection to reach a more profound sense of harmony.

We can dwell on a flower’s beautiful bloom or the delicate shape of a leaf to begin to appreciate the harmonious proportions everywhere. When we open ourselves to uncommon beauty and tune into the vibrations of nature or the underlying rhythm of the universe, we can begin to experience a deep resonance and state of harmony.

Balanced nature

The human body vibrates at a natural frequency if there is no disturbance or dampening force moving against it. When we are in-tune or aligned with the natural world, we do not feel weighed down or dampened.

A sense of balance in nature depends on positive vibrations. Listening to the tempo of waves on the shore or the sway of trees in the woods, we are listening to the grounding rhythm of the universe.
