ORDER GOODE VIBRATIONS NOVEL SERIES
Book II: Good Vibrations of the Dead River Valley
Release Date: October 25, 2025
The supernatural shift of Penelope Goode continues in Book II of the Goode Vibrations series. While trying to make sense of her ability to see into the past, she leaves her hometown of Portland for the mountains of northwestern Maine to visit a relative threatened with losing his property.
In the shadow of Mount Bigelow, Pennie finds herself steeped in a community of loggers, hunters, and fishers, sensing the vibrations of hardy souls who settled in the river valley. Her visions take her back in time, the days before the villages of the valley were flooded by the power company.
Sinking even deeper into the past, she dreams of Benedict Arnold’s epic expedition through the untamed wilderness. By sensing the many vibrations of the land’s storied history, Pennie discovers injustices of the past, and the freedom America fought for 250 years ago, to continue her fight for individual rights today.
Book I: Goode Vibrations of the Wresting Place
The transformation of Penelope Goode begins after a near-death experience on her 30th birthday while skiing on a mountain in Maine. She wakes up in recovery and the world around her is more vivid and intense. Strange visions creep up on her like a dream—the spirits of her recently deceased dog and the mother she hardly knew. Ghost owls cast shadows of premonition.
When the number three recurs, Pennie fears for her sanity, especially while surveying a graveyard near the former Home for the Feeble-Minded. Here she senses her first vibrations—spirits of the Malaga Island settlement reinterred on these very grounds after a forced exile over a century ago by the State of Maine, a chapter of racism and eugenics.
Despite warning signs and against her best instincts, she rushes headlong into a relationship with the developer who is excavating near the graves. She begins to realize the signs all around her, listen to her intuition, and awaken to her visions. Through a slow unearthing, Pennie uncovers the past and recognizes the power of her dreams, the haunting history of Malaga Island, and her fight for justice and the truth.
